The top two teams - Peas and Lentils - battled it out in the first match last week, with Lentils eventually overcoming the unbeaten Peas to win 6 sets each, 25 games to 20, 419 points to 394.
Owen Osborne began with a win for Lentils over Peas Jason Robinson 11-8, 12-10, 11-7, but Peas retaliated winnning the next three sets.
Pea's sub Clive Young defeated Lentils, sub Sherry Crow 11-9, 7-11, 11-6, 11-8. Shane Edelsten defeated Lentils, sub Simon Leslie 8-11, 11-8, 11-7, 7-11, 11-6. Mel Patni won over Lentils, Zeke Clark 9-11, 11-7, 11-5, 8-11, 11-8.
Lentils claimed the first doubles: Owen/Sherry defeating Jason/Clive 11-7, 11-8, 11-4, then Peas won the next doubles: Shane/Mel defeating Simon/Zeke 12-10, 11-7, 8-11, 11-5.
Jason continued the wins for Peas with victory over Sherry 11-8, 11-7, 11-3, but Lentils fought back in the next two singles where Owen defeated Clive 11-5, 11-2, 11-5, and Zeke defeated Shane 11-9, 11-5, 11-2.
Peas' Mel took the last reverse singles over Simon 12-14, 11-4, 11-8, 11-3.
Lentils claimed the last two doubles of the match: Owen/Simon defeated Jason/Shane 9-11, 11-4, 11-8, 11-6, and Sherry/Zeke defeated Clive/Mel 11-9, 11-6, 10-12, 11-7 resulting in a narrow win for Lentils.
Match two was an easy win for Barley over Beans, 9 sets to 3, 29 games to 11, 406 points to 301.
Barley's Ash Purdue won over Beans' sub Rob Lehmann 11-6, 11-7, 11-8.
Due to a shortage of sub players, Rob then switched allegience to Barley to defeat Beans; Graeme Koschitzke 11-8, 9-11, 11-8, 11-5.
Beans' Heather Huebner took a second win over Barley's Wendy Lehmann 11-8, 11-6, 5-11, 11-7, and Barley's Merryn Baxter defeated Beans' Josh Hutchinson 11-8, 11-9, 11-5.
Barley claimed the next two doubles:Ash/John defeated Rob/Graeme 11-9, 11-6, 11-6, and Wendy/Merryn defeated Heather/Josh 11-9, 11-9, 11-5.
In the reverse singles, Beans' Rob won over Barley sub John Woods 11-9, 11-5, 10-12, 11-6. Heather defeated Merryn 11-4, 11-4, 8-11, 13-11, and Barley claimed the other two sets: Ash defeated Graeme 11-9, 11-3, 11-2, and Wendy defeated Josh 11-9, 11-3, 11-5.
Barley also won the last two doubles: Ash/Wendy defeated Rob/Heather 11-9, 11-5, 11-2, and sub Richard Tickner/Merryn defeated Graeme/Josh 11-7, 5-11, 12-10, 11-2 giving Barley a very decisive win.
Match three saw Wheat victorious over Canola in a close contest 7 sets to 5, 27 games to 22, 476 points to 452.
Sandon Schultz began for Wheat with a win over his father Russell 14-12, 7-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5. Canola then fought back when John Woods defeated Wheat Richard Tickner 11-9, 10-12, 11-8, 11-8.
Wheat's David Ward defeated Canola's sub Sherry Crow 11-9, 11-7, 11-7, and Wheat sub Josh Hutchinson defeated Canola's Cindy Bull 10-12, 11-7, 11-7, 11-8.
Canola claimed the first doubles: Russell/John defeated Sandon/Richard 4-11, 11-5, 11-3, 11-7. Wheat fought back, winning the next set: David/Josh defeated Canola's Cindy/Heather 1-11, 11-4, 14-11, 11-7, 17-15.
Canola won the next three reverse singles: Russell defeated Richard 9-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-3. Josh defeated Sandon 7-11, 12-10, 11-8, 4-11, 14-12. Canola's sub defeated Mel 11-1, 11-9, 12-14, 11-8 and Wheat's David defeated Cindy 11-5, 11-5, 11-2.
Wheat claimed the last two doubles: Sandon/David defeated Russell/sub 7-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-4, and Richard/sub defeated John/Cindy 10-12, 11-7, 11-7, 11-9 to seal the match for Wheat.
