Pair charged over cannabis haul in Ledcourt
Two men have been charged following the seizure of more than 2,600 cannabis plants along with a quantity of cash, equipment and drug paraphernalia in Ledcourt on Friday November 1.
Halls Gap uniform officers, with the assistance of Stawell and Lake Bolac uniform officers, executed a search warrant on a remote bush property off Heatherlie Track on November 1.
Two men allegedly ran from the property as police arrived.
After a short foot chase through scrub, police arrested one of the men.
A second man was pursued on foot by officers through bush and creeks before being arrested.
The pair were held overnight before being interviewed and charged on Saturday November 2.
A 49-year-old St Albans man has been charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of cannabis and a 49-year-old Braybrook man has been charged with cultivating a commercial large quantity of cannabis.
Both men were remanded in custody and were expected to appear at Horsham Magistrates’ Court this week on November 4.
Investigations are still underway.
