Rainbow P-12 College students, staff and community enjoyed Education Week with Open Days and a range of activities which showcased and celebrated the various skills, talents and innovations in our young people in line with this years's theme "Active Learners: Move, Make, Motivate."
Amongst the flurry of activities, the Rainbow Grab ‘n’ Go coffee cart was successfully launched by the VM students, and the Hands on Learning class invited a special guest each to join them for breakfast at the HOL shed, serving waffles, croissants, poached eggs on toast, tea and coffee.
Nadia Wedding expressed her thanks to all of those involved who made the week’s events such a success.
“A big heartfelt thank you to all the community members, parents, past students, families, special people and loved ones who have taken the time and effort to pop into our amazing school over the last week,” she said.
“We were thrilled to have opened up our school to the community on Monday morning and Friday afternoon as part of Education Week to showcase the wonderful learning that happens on a regular basis.
“Staff and students got a real buzz from seeing you all come in to view our classes, have a chat and catch up.”
The students in Mr Cook’s elective Fishing class made lures to test out on their next excursion using a range of recycled materials including recycled bottle lids, corks and feathers, and some students got the opportunity to go to the Rainbow Hospital for a look at the Careers in Allied Health on offer.
