Warracknabeal Primary School has begun the new year in the new Warracknabeal Education Precinct, and the old buildings have been demolished.

Stage One of the Warracknabeal Education Precinct was completed at the end of last year and involved the construction of six main buildings, two ovals and a hardcourt area.

The demolition of the old primary school buildings on 5 Werrigar Street, which were built some time around 1960, marks an important step in Stage Two of the $19.8 million project, which started in early 2021 with the relocation of the portables at the Warracknabeal Primary School.

Warracknabeal Primary School principal Chris Kellett said the move into the new buildings was fantastic.

“We have lovely, state of the art facilities, lots of space for collaboration, and break out areas for students to work in,” he said.

“The students have shown such resilience with all the changes, and willingness to adapt to the new space.

"We have lots of happy, smiling faces, which is exactly what we like to see.”
