With the calendar year winding down, The Wimmera Mail-Times looks back on the 2024 Wimmera Football Netball League season before its full steam ahead for 2025.
For the senior footballers it was a year of change for some as the Southern Mallee Thunder played in their first season.
While Nhill played in their first finals series since 2010 and were two straight kicks away from a prelim.
However, its was Ararat that once again lifted the premiership cup aloft after a heart-stopping finale against the Thunder.
The Horsham Saints won the reserves' premiership, while Horsham swept the junior grades.
On the netball court it was Horsham and the Horsham Saints who once again battled at the top end of the A Grade ladder.
The Saints drew first blood on Anzac Day, but from there the Demons did not drop a game, as they claimed a first A Grade flag in eight years.
In other grades Stawell were victorious in the B Grade before the Saints claimed C Grade and C Reserve honours.
The Horsham Saints swept all three junior grades.
