Online expo feedback still welcome
Horsham Rural City Council residents have until Monday August 19 to select projects they want included in the city's plans and budget for 2025-26.
The council is urging people who missed a community engagement expo in Horsham Town Hall to add comments online on their preferred projects.
“The online version is still open on council's website until August 19, and I encourage people to provide feedback," mayor Robyn Cr Gulline said.
More than 100 people took the opportunity to comment on council projects during the two-day expo in Horsham Town Hall on August 9 and 10.
Council staff received comments from the public on many topics. People could also vote for the projects they considered most urgent.
Cr Gulline said public opinion could help shape long-term strategic planning.
“We had a great response to the expo, with people chatting with staff and councillors about projects such as the City Oval redevelopment, pedestrian crossings and major roadworks,” she said.
"We also had many people pass on condolences and pay tribute to Cr Redden following his passing."
She said the expo provided a transparent process which offered community members an equal voice in planning future priorities.
Feedback would be included in an Engagement Outcomes Report, to be made available to the community and considered by council when reviewing its annual action plan and preparing its next budget.
