Not backwards in going.... backwards
FREE TO READ: The Man in the Corner may have hung up his boots, but he still likes to keep an eye on the local football.
As a specialist Centre Half Bench, he marvels at the ruggedness of ballers who put their body on the line week in, week out.
However, one district game caught the attention of not only the Man in the Corner but everyone on the field and sidelines.
During one centre bounce, the nameless player saw an opportunity and grabbed it with both hands.
Bursting through the pack, like Dermott Brereton dressed up as Captain America, the onballer found space and kicked the ball clear of the centre square.
The kick went straight as an arrow, 40 metres in the wrong direction. Straight to an opposition player.
Like a cork in the ocean, the opposition forward used most of the space, and his team went on to kick another goal.
Oh well. There's always room for improvement.
