Noradjuha Quantong beat Pimpinio at Rupanyup
Noradjuha Quantong will contest their second HDFNL preliminary final in as many years after beating Pimpinio, 15.17 (107) - 4.4 (28), in a semi final on Sunday, September 1, at Rupanyup Recreation Reserve.
Noradjuha Quantong's senior football coach Damian Cameron said his side is wrapped to pick up the win and move into next weekend's prelim.
"It probably wasn't the fourth quarter game that we put up last week, but it wasn't too far off," he said.
"To win by a big margin in a semi final, we're super wrapped, it's unreal."
Noradjuha Quantong got off to a strong start, with the breeze at their backs, the bombers kicked five goals in the opening term.
The Bombers controlled the flow of play, rarely letting Pimpinio out of their own half.
"Right from the start we were well set up," said Cameron.
"We got our structures right, and we played with confidence.
"And, to get off to a fast start was another big thing as well."
A week prior, Cameron had praised his back line as the unsung heroes of his team after the side claimed its first blowout win of this finals series.
And, again it was those stout defenders who stood tall.
Pimpinio was scoreless through the opening term, and few inroads were made in the quarters that followed.
"Our defense was super good today, like we won our one on one battles down there, and the midfield had a cracking game as well," Cameron said.
Noradjuha Quantong will now meet the Swifts in the preliminary final at the Natimuk Showgrounds on Saturday, September 7, where the two sides will compete for the chance to oppose Harrow Balmoral in the premiership's decider.
Elsewhere on the day, the Laharum Demons won through to the preliminary finals in both the reserves fixture and the under 17s.
The Reserves beat Kalkee 11.13 (79) - 8.4 (52), while the 17s beat Kaniva Leeor United by, 10.7 (67) - 8.12 (60).
But while Laharum's under 14s team was also in competition in Sunday's semi finals, the side was unsuccessful, losing to Edenhope Apsley, 4.5 (29) - 3.6 (24).
