Noradjuha Quantong fighting for perfect finish to late season surge

In round 13 of the HDFNL, the Noradjuha Quantong Bombers faced their biggest defeat of the 2024 season.

The Harrow Balmoral Southern Roos left the Bombers 106-points behind, but battered and bruised, Noradjuha Quantong used that low to spur on a late season surge.

Noradjuha Quantong has won all of its seven games since, including two matches against the second-placed Swifts, and with an average margin of almost 68 points.

Now, Noradjuha Quantong can finish their fight back in the HDFNL grand final against the side that has driven them to the league's decider.

"That was a big eye opener for us that day," said Noradjuha Quantong's senior football coach Damian Cameron.

"We've changed a lot of things since then, and we've had a lot of blowouts since then.

"We go in full of confidence, it's be good to come up against them again."

Following Noradjuha Quantong's preliminary final victory, Cameron sized up the challenge his side had ahead.

"Harrow [Balmoral] goes in undefeated so it's a massive challenge," he said.

"[But] we can go in as underdogs, we can throw everything at it and work to some plans against them and see how we go."

The Bombers captain, James Hallett said his side is 'over the moon' to make the 2024 grand final after the side's preliminary final exit the year prior.

"It's been a bit of a journey from from last year, obviously we bowed out in prelim, and there's been a bit of heartbreak," he said.

Hallett labelled Harrow Balmoral 'a mountain to climb'.

"They've been the benchmark for five or 10 years" he said.

"[After] that touch up they gave us late in the season, we all sat down and had a bit of a look at ourselves and wondered where we wanted to be and what sort of team and club we wanted to be.

"It really did spur us on to those few performances together late in the year and in the first couple finals.

"Hopefully we can stick it to them on Saturday and see how we go."
