New year, new president, new members

New Dimboola Probus president Joy Nelson was delighted that herfirst official task was inducting two new members at last week's AGM.
"It's wonderful to see more new members joining," Ms Nelson said. "We'd love to see more.
"We're a unique Club and we have fun excursions and guest speakers.
"If you're retired, don't just sit at home, bored, come join us."
The two new members inducted today were Debbie Colquhoun and Diane Bond.
Debbie is a registered nurse who enjoys gardening, watching tennis and travelling. Diane is a bowler who loves spending time with her grandchildren.
The Club is happy to have both members.
Ian Lehmann took the chair for most of the AGM, declaringpositions vacant, and calling for majority approvals on extensions.
Annette Luckett and Bev Hoffman both accepted a fourth year in theirpositions, and Gladys Schwarz stepped up as Welfare Officer.
Ian thenpresented Ms Nelson with the President's collar. She is experienced in the position having served before.
Outgoing president Bev Collins welcomed Ms Nelson into the role.
"For almost 20 years the Probus Club has been enriching the lives of Dimboola's active retirees," she said.
"Our aim was always to have fellowship, friendship, and especially to have fun.
"I think that the club can be very proud of its contribution to Dimboola."
