New charity to help local families
There's a new charity on the scene in West Wimmera whose focus is on assisting deserving families.
Local volunteers Melanie Skinner, Dulcie Shirrefs and Louise Ferguson.
The Nurtured Village is an organisation relying on community generosity to provide hampers and services to families in the West Wimmera and surrounds.
On the first Saturday or Sunday of every month, through the charity's local Facebook page, nominations will open for a deserving family to be the recipient for the coming month's hamper.
The winner will then be randomly selected and donation requests will be taken.

Donations can include food, gifts and services like activity books, candles, clothes etc.
Besides supplying hampers and services, the charity focuses on awareness around the mental health of mums and building a support village for them.
