Natimuk gymnastics stars bring home medals in state junior championships
Natimuk and District Gymnastic Club sent 13 competitors to championships.
The Natimuk and District Gymnastic Club sent 13 competitors to the Victorian Junior Championships in Geelong.
The competition was held across two weekends in October, and the club completed some impressive routines.
On October 19, Level 7 gymnast Karla Arthur represented the club.
Level 5 competitors Isla Barron, Madeline Castleman, and Elsa Drendel had their first experience on the big stage.
Barron achieved some personal best routines. Castleman came away with a sixth place on vault.
Castleman made club history as the first female gymnast to win first place.
Drendel is the level 5 division 3 Victorian champion. Elsa also placed third on beam and bars and fourth on vault.
The team travelled to Geelong for the second weekend of the competition with impressive performances.
Level 3 girls, Isla Lannin, Evelyn Henderson, Ava Hausler, Layla Glatz and Matilda Stanley were placed first on vault, second on beam and overall, third on floor and first on bars respectively.
Ava Rabone, Phoebe Burns, Jayda Hallam and Grace Puls represented the club in level 4.
In addition, Remi Bailey and Edward Jones, competed in the Southern Cross Classic.
Bailey placed third on floor, rings, and high bar, fourth on bars, fifth on pommel and fourth overall.
Jones was placed second on vault, third on bars, fourth on pommel and rings and fifth on floor, high bar and overall.
