Murtoa counting down to its fabulous Big Weekend
Anticipation is building for Murtoa's Big Weekend as organisers apply the final touches to preparations.
There will be action-packed schedule from Friday October 4 until Sunday October 6, with plenty to do and see for the entire family.
MBW2024 chairperson Claire Bibby said the event planning this year had been exciting, with community involvement in lining up attractions on offer for the event.
"Funding from FRRR/Australian Government for artist workshops has provided many creative opportunities for Murtoa College, OLHC Primary School and Murtoa’s Men’s Shed that will be showcased during Destination: Murtoa Lights event at Rabl Park on the evening of Friday October 4," Ms Bibby said.
"A comment mentioned by one of the Men’s Shed group that 'this project has brought us all together’ was such a joyful expression to hear."
Event organiser Natasha Pietsch said it was anticipated crowds would converge on Murtoa to enjoy the Murtoa Show followed by the lighting trail event.
"And we are hoping that youth 12-18 years of age will come along to the Murtoa Hall on the Saturday night to enjoy a night of fun with live DJ music and lighting," Ms Pietsch said.
"An invitation is extended throughout the district to come to Murtoa to enjoy these and all other events and attractions on offer during the event."
