Mothers Day celebration
Wimmera Mallee Pioneer Museum hosted a warm and memorable Mother’s Day celebration at Werrap Hall in Jeparit, bringing together locals and visitors from across the region.
The event attracted about 20 people, including guests from Horsham, Rainbow and Dimboola, as well as local Jeparit families.
Children also joined the celebration, with organisers setting up a craft table and activities to keep them involved throughout the day.
One of the organisers, Natalia Aguiree, said the event created a strong sense of connection among guests.
“We had about 20 people,” she said.
“It was great, I think we had a great, very special time for Mother’s Day, and we really enjoyed the company.”
Guests shared a long table, enjoyed homemade food, took part in games and activities, and received small gifts and souvenirs to remember the day.
The hall was filled with homemade treats, including handcrafted apple roses made by Christa, fluffy scones made by Wendy, and tiramisu prepared for the occasion.
Ms Aguiree said the shared table helped create a welcoming and family-like atmosphere.
“Everybody felt like part of the family,” she said.
“We had one long table and it was very intimate and made everybody feel welcome and part of the museum family.”
Morgan and Paul from Blossom Blend helped decorate the hall and outdoor area with plants and flowers, adding colour and elegance to the celebration.
Mary also donated colourful bunting, which brightened the hall and added a festive touch to the event.
Ms Aguiree said the decorations, weather and community support all contributed to the success of the day.
“We had beautiful weather as well,” she said.
“Everyone was dressed well, and we all wore beautiful hats.
“A local lady from Blossom Blend decorated the hall and the outside with nice plants.
“It all looked so beautiful.”
The event was supported by several volunteers, including Gordon, Kenny, Craige, who provided music, and others who helped with cooking, setting up and cleaning after the celebration.
Ms Aguiree said the event succeeded due to the combined effort of the whole team.
“It was a combined effort for everybody,” she said.
“I organised it, but having the people behind you, backing you up and making it happen, that’s what matters.”
The museum committee thanked all guests, volunteers and supporters for making the Mother’s Day celebration a memorable community event.
