Miller stars for Homers
Luke Miller has played a starring role for the Homers in round four of the Horsham Cricket Association, scoring 85 runs and taking four wickets in their 86-run win over the Horsham Saints at Sunnyside Recreation Reserve.
After winning the toss and batting, the Homers got off to a steady start through Adam Atwood and Luke Miller, putting on a 34-run partnership until Jono Carroll trapped Atwood for LBW for 15.
In the next over, Pradesh Venu Kudililparambil bowled Monty Wynne for a duck, and the Homers were suddenly 2/35.
A 79-run partnership between Miller and Baxter Perry guided the homers past 100. Not long after, Perry fell for 21, caught and bowled by Matt Curril, but Gamage and Miller held firm for another 26 runs until Miller fell to Kudililparambil for 85.
With an unbeaten 26, Gamage guided the Homers to 7/179 off their 45 overs.
Kudililparambi finished with figures of 4/25 (9), with Jono Carroll contributing with 2/35 (8).
Having not scored triple figures once this season, the Saints faced a daunting task. Luke Miller took the first four wickets of the match, putting the Saints at 4/52.
Chaminda Gamage, 3/16, and Jazz Hopper, 2/1, also contributed with the ball to bowl the Saints out for 93 in the 35th over.
Mark Crafter, 26, and Nick Gardiner, with an unbeaten 18, were the best batters for the Saints.
