For the men, both teams are two games behind the Hornets and currently sharing first spot with Mt Gambier, two wins will seal top spot and one will cement them in the top two.

Mitch Martin will be back into the side whilst Jake Hobbs and Ryan Pfitzner will both miss.

The women are currently sitting third on the ladder on equal wins with Millicent and Mt Gambier. Having Mt Gambier covered in the head to head tiebreak they need one win to seal a finals spot.

In another massive milestone for the Hornets, following the few in recent matches, Caitlin Jones-Story will play her 100th game and Benbow said they are very confident this week.

"They have had a good break and they want to win two matches, especially at home in front of a massive crowd," he said.

When asked if having a home Grand Final gives them an added advantage heading into this weekend for both teams Benbow concluded that it's massive.

"It definitely brings us a big edge. Everyone loves playing at home. The crowd support is massive If we can get home finals, even better. No one wants to travel to Mt Gambier or Warrnambool for a final."

Also this week, three Hornets athletes are away in Albury playing in the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup. Levi Munyard (U18 boys) alongside Ruby Bethune and Rani Potter (U14 Girls) are among 1000 players, coaches and officials participating in the tournament.

The junior representative teams are also back on the court for training with the Bendigo Junior Classic only one week away.
