Mary wins Stableford

A windy, cool day with skiffy showers day did not stop 15 ladies from playing in the Warracknabeal Golf Club Stableford event on Wednesday. Sponsored by The Fragrant Florist, the winner of the day was Mary Massey who ended up playing to her handicap...

A windy, cool day with skiffy showers day did not stop 15 ladies from playing in the Warracknabeal Golf Club Stableford event on Wednesday.

Sponsored by The Fragrant Florist, the winner of the day was Mary Massey who ended up playing to her handicap with 36 Stableford points.

Runner-up was Marlene Pilmore with 35 points on a two-way countback from Janice Midgley and Barb Bell, who both received a ball for their good scores.

Nearest the pin on the Warrack Hot Bread 5th was won by Marlene Pilmore with two beautiful shots that nearly put her in the hole.

The Power and Bennett 7th was won by Leonie Atkin, who also collected the jackpottedRural Northwest Health 13th (anda nice little bit of cash), along with a lovely coffee mug which was from Mary Barber’s sponsorship last week.

Janice Midgleywon theSue Krause third shot on the 9th again.

The Warracknabeal Dental Clinic Nine Out was won by Isobel Davison with 21 points.

The Shirley Liersch Nine In was won by Vicki Hinkley, alsowith 21 points.

Wednesday also saw the presentation of the Ladies’ Singles Knockout Championship, sponsored by Lynne and Max Woodward.

Maree Heenan was the winner of this major event, with Karen Germano taking home the runner-up prize.

We enjoyed celebrating this presentation with an afternoon tea attended by Lynne and Max.

Next Wednesday’s event will be a Mutiple Stableford, so you will need to organise your partner if you haven’t already.

Office duty will be: Out - Charmaine Wilson and partner; In - Casey Phelan and partner.

Last Saturday’s Women’s Stableford was won by Karen Germano with 34 points, while Leonie Atkin was the winner of the raffle this week.
