Jupiter showed their style last Wednesday, with a convincing win over Saturn in the first match of the evening.
Jupiter 7 sets, 14 games, 190 points defeated Saturn 1 set, 4 games, 140 points.
Jupiter won the first six sets: Fionn defeated Josh 11-8, 11-6. Sully defeated Zac 14-12, 11-5. Sub-Owen defeated Zoe 11-9, 11-7.
Owen/Sully paired up to defeat Zac/Zoe 6-11, 11-8, 11-6.
Fionn followed with a win over Zac 11-8, 11-7, then Sully defeated Zoe 11-2, 11-3.
Saturn won their only set when Josh/Zac defeated Fionn/Sully 11-2, 11-3.
Jupiter took the last doubles’ set Fionn/Sully defeated Josh/Zoe 10-12, 11-9, 11-4, to seal their massive win.
The second match of the evening was a suprise win when Mars 4 sets, 8 games, 123 points defeated ladder-leading Pluto 3 sets,6 games, 117 points.
Pluto’s Zeke won the first singles game over Mars’ Butla 11-6, 11-2, then Mars’ Colby defeated Pluto’s Shelta 11-8, 11-8 and sub-Heather defeated Ivy 11-5, 11-5.
Pluto fought back in the doubles when Zeke/Shelta defeated Butla/Colby 1-7, 11-9.
Mars’ Butla went on to win the next set over his sister Shelta 11-8, 11-4, then Zeke evened the score at three sets with a win over Colby 11-5, 11-6.
Mars sealed the match in the last set where Colby defeated Ivy 11-6, 11-7, giving Mars the victory and moving them up the ladder to third place.
Pluto still leads the ladder with 36, followed by Jupiter on 24, Mars on 16 and Saturn on 12.
Round the table elimination winners were Butla, Zac, Colby, and runner-ups were Zac, Ivy, Shelta respectively.
