Makers Gallery: successful Christmas trading for local crafters
Horsham Makers Gallery and Studio ended the years on a high
The Makers Gallery and Studio in Horsham celebrated Christmas and the New Year with a record number of contributors making sales during the festive season. It is now decked out with a whole new display for 2025.
"The combination of a very successful month in December and a popular annual Christmas market meant 74 of our contributors received payment for goods sold during that time," Liz Minnie said.
Over 60 handmade Christmas angels flew out the door during the pre-Christmas shopping spree, and the Christmas wreaths sold out, too.
The Makers Gallery and Studio is an outlet for local crafters and makers, providing a shopfront for home businesses. The goods sold must be handmade, unique, and of the highest quality. They must also be made in the district and priced to be affordable.
The gallery showroom is filled with art, skincare, olive oil, bath salts, cushions, quilts, jewellery, pottery, baby wear, photos, stuffed toys, crystal, resin, beeswax items and a selection of children's and baby clothes just to name a few.
Many items are easy to pack and post for gifts and are often a one-off I, item so the receiver can own an original item.
Some of the cutest children's items must be seen as beli, even especially the tiny backpacks for dolls and dummy spits for babies.
Artwork for all tastes varies from vibrant colours to pastels and is the work of local artists.
"Maker's imagination only limits the variety of items, so the stock continually changes," Ms Arbor said.
Craffting classes are held at the studio and will begin again in February.
Opening hours are Mon-Fri 11am -3pm and Sat- 10am -12pm
