Maddern lives every footballers dream
There haven't been many highlights for Kaniva Leeor in 2024, but Jock Maddern's goal after the siren to win the game against Rupanyup is every footballer's dream and will be remembered by the club and Jock for a long time.

It doesn't happen often, and when it does, it's always a great scene. It's an even more special moment when you factor in that he is the club's captain and is under enormous pressure.
Maddern said it was surreal.
"It was one of those where I had to go back, and either I was going to win the game or lose it, so I didn't think much about it, but when it went through, I was ecstatic," Maddern said.
"It's still a bit of a blur if I am honest. There was a lot of chaos afterward, and it was great. I have been playing a new role across the half-forward line in the last eight to ten weeks, and I am enjoying it.
"We had a big crowd that stuck around all day, and everyone was pretty happy afterward. It was a good moment."
Maddern is also thrilled with how the team is running out the season and cites Harley Bennell's influence as a major factor.
"We have only one recruit this year and have seen growth from the local blokes. A few weeks ago against Harrow and Noradjuha-Quantong was hard, but the boys have stuck together and are improving," Maddern said.
"Harley has been fantastic with his leadership and encouragement, and it's great to have him around the club.
"Whenever he is up front, especially, he coordinates and tells everyone where to go and is the first to get around everyone. You don't hear a negative word - he has been amazing."
