Lowan house wins senior athletics shield at the Holy Trinity Lutheran College secondary athletics carnival at Dudley Cornell Park.
The students are divided into three houses: Lowan (Blue), Wimmera (Red), and Mallee (Yellow) and competed in different athletics competitions on Tuesday March 28.
Lowan house won the main seniors shield for the second time and the Wimmera house is yet to win the seniors tittle.
The day starts with 100m heat followed by track and field events while sprint finals and relay race organised at the end of the day.
Sebastian Le-Roux of Lowan house won the special 90m handicap race called ‘HTLC Gift’, and total 15 records were broken on the day.
On the ladder, Lowan was at the top, followed by Wimmera in second position and Mallee in third.
HTLC PT teacher Mathew McLaughlin said the students showed great sportsmanship on the day.
“It was a great day and the students had a lot of fun with their friends and the house fellows,” he said.
“Sport is very important for the kids and the response of the sports enthusiast was up to the mark on the day.
“We are very pleased to have the student body who is keen to get involved in such events.”
