Double wins for Garry George, Heather Baxter, and Andrea Gurry.
It was doubles all around for local trainers after Garry George (Beulah), Heather Baxter (Murtoa) and Andrea Gurry (Nhill) all achieved successful weeks.
George kicked it off Tuesday, October 15, when Defensive was a narrow winner in the first race on the card.
Flying early she set-up a race winning lead only to be challenged late but doing enough to hold on by a neck in 23:65sec.
George then made it a race to race double when Mean Peace flew the lids and opened up a big margin using her blistering early speed.
Zipping Diego made a late charge but Mean Peace held strong winning well in 23:36sec.
Numerous for Doug and Paul Hammerstein showed great early field sense working hard to find the early lead entering the first corner, once in front he was always going to be hard to run down and simply cruised to a comfortable win in 23:47sec.
In Ballarat, Always Loyal for Heather Baxter was first home in the first race on the card.
Beginning well, Always Loyal was caught deep and held wide, but sitting second early on swinging for home she swept down the outside grabbing the leaders on the post to land the prize in impressive fashion in wet conditions.
Time for Tea then made it a running double jumping straight to the front and working extremely hard in the wet conditions to win well in the smart time on the day of 22:56sec.
Andrea Gurry then made the journey to Warrnambool and Veluza Bale struck first.
Beginning midfield, Veluza charged through the field working his way to second then railing hard to take the lead turning for home, easing to victory in 22:37sec.
Western Bale was then sent out a $1.40fav and didn't disappoint jumping straight to the front and cruising to victory in 22:28sec.
