Local trainers dominate Horsham greyhound races with impressive wins

Local trainers were once again strong contributors to the winner's circle at Horsham's regular race meeting on Tuesday, September 3, with winners to Heather Baxter (Murtoa), Ian Bibby (Warracknabeal) and Bill and Helen Hartigan (Horsham).
Followed by Garry George (Beulah) taking the show on the road with a victory at Ballarat.
Heather Baxter got the ball rolling when her maiden galloper Suntory Lisa broke through with an impressive all the way victory.
Beginning swiftly from box three Suntory Lisa opened up a big break and turning for home had the race in her keeping greeting the judge first and stopping the clock in the nice time of 23:68sec.
Club president Ian Bibby then produced Deadly Dave, who on jumping well from box four carved across the field to open up a nice margin on cornering.
Straightening for home and Dave dashed clear but then had to withstand a strong finishing Follow The Sun and withstand he did holding on to win by half a length in the good time of 23:53sec.
It was then that Kraken Paddy stepped out for team Hartigan and simply put on an outstanding display of front running speed.
Stepping from box one he exploded and had put the race to bed by the time the dogs entered the first corner with Paddy already a commanding leader, he straightened for home and went away an easy victor by five lengths in the flying time of 23:12sec.
Garry George (Beulah) then travelled to Ballarat Wednesday producing Our Titan and it was without disappointment as Our Titan was simply superb, beginning well he mustered up quickly to lead on cornering, straightening for home he was able to put the race to bed stopping the clock in a flying 21:89sec.
The racing will continue this Sunday at Horsham starting at about 5:30pm.
