Local clubs to receive Netball Victoria and WorkSafe club safety funding
Taylors Lake and Glenthompson Dunkeld were two of 40 recipients.
The Taylors Lake and Glenthompson Dunkeld Football Netball Clubs will receive funding as part of Netball Victoria and WorkSafe's club safety fund.
Over 90 applications were made, with 40 recipients announced on Tuesday, September 10.
The initiative allows clubs to update and install equipment such as post padding, defibrillators and first aid kits.
Funding will also contribute to permanent and portable structures such as shelter sheds for umpires, fences, and walkways, along with minor facility maintenance.
All Victorian country netball clubs are eligible to apply each year.
Netball Victoria CEO Andrea Pearman emphasised how important netball is to the regions across the state.
"Country netball continues to be the heartbeat of many regional towns across the state, and it's imperative that the venues and facilities remain safe environments for all players, officials, volunteers and spectators," Ms Pearman said.
"So we thank WorkSafe for this initiative and providing funds to allow netball to thrive."
This announcement comes soon after Dimboola, Edenhope Apsley and SMW Rovers were included as recipients of AFL Victoria's club safety fund.
