Livestock truck rolls

Patchewollock and Speed CFA units were called to a B-double cattle truck rollover on Hopetoun–Walpeup Road, Ouyen, at around 5.12pm on Tuesday February 11.

The driver was safely out of the vehicle by the time crews arrived.

Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police and VicRoads attended the scene and the Department of Primary Industries was contacted about the cattle.

Some had to be euthanised due to injuries sustained in the accident while others were rescued.

Forest Fire Management Victoria and Parks Victoria were also notified of the incident as there was public land nearby.

The scene was deemed under control at 5.52pm and safe at 8.24pm.

It was then handed over to Victoria Police.
