Lions seek info on vandalism
Warracknabeal Lions Club was left to clean up the Lions Park amenities block after it was vandalised with graffiti last week.
President Maurie Parsons said the facility had been repainted only about a week earlier.
"It's been $300 to $400 worth of paint," Mr Parsons said.
"The Lions are proud of the park."
"It's a tourist attraction."
Since the renovations of the Scott Street amenities block began, Mr Parsons said there had been an increase of people using the facility.
"It's a good outlook on the Warracknabeal community," he said.
Mr Parsons said the graffiti was "everywhere" in the male, female and disabled amenities.
"It was on the walls and the toilet seats," he said.
"You can see it was done by someone who knows how to write, just by looking at the verses and handwriting."
Lions member Shirley Liersch discovered the writing on Saturday March 8.
"It wasn't graffiti as such," she said.
"It was written like quotes – it was very different."
Ms Liersch said the shire had sent someone to clean up the facility.
