Fourth- and fifth-graders at Dimboola Primary school have been busy making preparations for the Wimmera Steampunk Festival's children’s lantern procession, producing some fabulous creations.
The march will start at 8.45pm on Saturday April 22 and proceed down Lloyd Street accompanied by the Horsham Rural City Band.
"The students have worked really hard," art teacher Mrs French said.
She said Steampunk's organisers approached the school with the idea for the march and almost every grade had been creatively involved.
Fifth-grader William explained the mechanics of the lanterns.
"You see, we have these (batteries) stuck to these lights on this stick," William said, indicating the underside of a lantern.
"That's how it works.
"I don't like most things but I do like to help."
