Les Power seeks re-election to Horsham Rural City Council in May Park Ward
Les Power hopes for re-election to HRCC in the May Park Ward
I have put my name forward for the May Park Ward of Horsham. I have lived in that part of Horsham for the best part of 35 years of the 50 years that I have lived in the city of Horsham.
My reasons for standing are basic.
I would like to see all the plans and preparations of my previous two terms in council come to fruition.
These include the further development of Wimmera River and the parks, the development of city oval sporting precinct, the development of housing in the council yard precinct that will further develop our CBD and in turn encourage greater development of our regional city.
I will support, engage, and be transparent with all members of HRCC community not just the people in the May Park ward.
I am all about our community not small sections of the community; we are one and should all work together as one to make our community as prosperous as we can for all of us to enjoy.
My hopes and vision for Horsham is to grow into being a liveable and vibrant city for all be to enjoy.
To improve our educational, medical, transport and sporting facilities to a regional standard that will encourage our economy to grow and create greater employment opportunities for all, young and old.
We must use our advantage of being half way between Melbourne and Adelaide to our advantage.
He has been a Horsham resident for the past 50 years and a police officer for almost two decades. Cr Power is involved in many community groups including the Blue Ribbon Foundation, Horsham and District Football League, YMCA and Nexus Youth Centre.
