NORADJUHA Quantong can consolidate their spot in the top four when they travel to face Kalkee at the Kalkee Recreation Reserve in Horsham District Football League tomorrow.
Kalkee have only won two matches this year and will be looking to get their season going with a win against the Bombers.
Bombers coach Damian Cameron knows they need to address their slow starts – especially this week.
“At home the Kees are a strong side. They will be looking at this match as one they can win. For us, we need to control the slow starts. We have spoken about it at training and will look to find ways to come out of the blocks firing,” Cameron said.
“The last couple of years we have had some close games. We were in commanding positions twice at last year at three quarter time but were beaten. We are looking at this game to redeem ourselves. With the Kees making the Grand Final last year it gives us belief we can win,” Cameron concluded.
Taylors Lake welcome back key forward Cam Hetherington from injury when they face Kaniva Leeor at Dock Lake Recreation Reserve. Matthew White will also play again.
Coach Kyle Pinto knows they need to play four quarters if they are to win the game and is confident they can do so.
“I feel as though Kaniva are pretty similar to us. If we can play our best football and hold it for the four quarters then we are may get the result we are looking for,” Pinto said.
Pimpinio will look to better their win column from last year when they travel to Natimuk Showgrounds to face the Rams. The Tigers are sitting on three wins and with the Rams winning their first game last week, Tigers coach Clint Burdett knows they can’t take them lying down.
“They will see this as a game they can win. We are hoping we will be stronger and anything can happen,” Burdett said.
Burdett knows they need to concentrate the entire game and have worked on that at training.
“As a young team we need some on field leadership. We have addressed that and we have to find a way to win,” Burdett concluded.
In the other matches Rupanyup will know where they stand when they travel to Harrow Reserve to take on the Southern Roo. With Simon Close kicking bags of goals each week, they need to find a way to shut him down and it could go a long way to winning the match.
Edenhope Apsley will be looking to get their third win of the season when they host the Swifts and things don’t get any easier for Laharum when they travel to Rainbow Recreation Reserve to face the Storm.
