Juniors have a date with sultanas as excitement builds for the show
It's time to polish the baking pans and fertilise the garden in readiness for this year’s 112th Rainbow A & P Society Show on Tuesday October 15.

The Show is now less than two weeks away and we are delighted to offer another day of excitement for young and old.
The Rainbow Show Ladies Committee farewelled long-term president Maureen Petschel at its Annual General Meeting earlier this year.
Sincere thanks to Maureen for her tireless effort dedicating many voluntary hours to the Rainbow Show.
Also, thanks to her husband Neville for his support and assistance given to Maureen.
Thank you to retiring treasurer Pam Newton for keeping the books in order.
Results of the AGM executive for 2024 Ladies Committee is president Heather Drendel, vice president Jillian Eckermann, secretary Shirley Cross, assistant secretary Rowena Keller and treasurer Lisebeth Staples, supported by fellow ladies committee.
At the May meeting the committee reviewed and updated the Show schedule for 2024.
There have been changes and the Schedules are available from Kellers Newsagency or by contacting Show secretary Norelle Eckermann.
There has been change in the VAS Ltd Junior Carrot and Sultana Muffins.
Meeting the culinary taste of our juniors, dates have been substituted by sultanas.
So, time for our junior cooks to start having a practice and enjoying their carrot and sultana muffins.
VAS Ltd Carrot Cake has also had a slight change with the recipe having 350mls of oil instead of 375mls. The carrot cake is also able to be exhibited on a nine-inch board.
All VAS and WASA recipes are published in the back of the Schedule.
A delicious luncheon will be capably catered for by the Rainbow Bowling Club.
This year we farewell dedicated stewards Joy Mathews, Claire Mellington in the cut flowers, and Glenda Keller in the student sections.
Thank you for your valuable assistance over the years.
Welcome to our new stewards, and if anyone is interested in working as a steward at the Show, please do not hesitate to contact the committee.
The Show is fortunate to have generous sponsors in our area who contribute trophies awarded to prize recipients in all sections.
