Overcast skies greeted players for the second-to-last match before finals.
Unfortunately the morning’s play could not be completed before the rain set in, with teams disappointed they were unable to finish.
Nike took on ladder leaders Diadora in what proved to be a close contest.
Campbell Mansfield (Nike) and Kane Bastin (Diadora) demonstrated how evenly matched they were with a thrilling set in the number three singles. Long rallies and hard hitting were displayed, with Campbell holding on for a 6-5 (7-4) win for Nike.
Aiden Credlin and Tilly Barry (Nike) were up against brothers Cooper and Edison Stasinowsky (Diadora) in the number one and four set. Aiden and Tilly teamed well to claim victory for Nike 6-4.
Zac O’Connor and Colby Anderson (Nike) were pushed to their limits by Maggie and Taylor Fisher (Diadora), just hanging in there for a 6-4 win.
Despite Nike winning the close sets, Diadora were the overall winners with 53 games to Nike’s 37 games, securing top spot on the ladder.
Asics up against Puma was the other match of the morning - a see-sawing affair with neither team inching ahead.
Seth Keam and Isaac Credlin (Asics) combined well for a 6-3 win against Macie Nitschke and Lyla Barry (Puma).
Tyler Preston and Scarlett Mitchell (Puma) took the points 6-3 over Ruby Tregenza and Harry Fisher (Asics). These four players have all shown terrific improvements in their tennis since the start of the season.
Karter Nitschke and Tyler Preston (Puma) played consistently for a 6-3 victory over Oli Credlin and Ruby Tregenza (Asics).
Three sets were unable to be completed due to the weather, and the overall winners were decided by the barest of margins, with Asics snaring their third win in a row, 49 games to Puma’s 48 games.
Draw for this Saturday: Diadora v Adidas, Puma v Nike, Asics has the bye.

Aiden/Zac lost to Cooper/Maggie 0-6. Campbell/Leila Hudson lost to Kane/Sally Magee 5-6 (4-7). Tilly/Colby Anderson lost to Edison/Taylor Fisher 3-6.
Aiden/Tilly defeated Cooper/Edison 6-4. Zac/Campbell lost to Maggie/Kane 0-6. Colby/Leila lost to Taylor/Sally 1-6.
Aiden/Campbell and Cooper/Kane were washed out. Zac/Colby defeated Maggie/Taylor 6-4. Tilly/Leila drew with Edison/Sally 1-1 due to weather.
Asics defeated Puma, 49 games to 48.
