The Jeparit Post Office has now moved to its new location within the Jeparit Supermarket and Cafe.

The post office began operations inside the supermarket on June 15 with extended trading hours, as the supermarket's owner, Raj and Rekha, had purchased it.

The new post office is now accessible to locals from Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm, with no breaks.

The supermarket manager, Ram Mathur, said the post office is now easily accessible to the community.

"The locals are happy that they can access Aus Post inside the store," he said.

"And they don't have to go somewhere else for it.

Mr Mathur said the idea behind the purchase was to give something back to the community.

"We want to keep the community services in the town.

"We are trying to provide more access to the community with these postal and banking services."

The couple purchased the post office from its previous owners, Kaye and Ron, who had been running it a few doors down from the supermarket.

The new address of the post office is 52 Roy Street, Jeparit, inside the Jeparit Supermarket and Cafe, commonly known as 'The General Store.'
