ITET Horsham Gariwerd Ensemble to perform this weekend
Music lovers in the Wimmera are in for a treat this Sunday, October 12, when the ITET Horsham Gariwerd String Ensemble performs at the Horsham Uniting Church from 5.30pm.
The ensemble will be joined on stage by their professional mentors, John Noble and the Flinders Quartet, who are also the group’s artistic patrons.
Founded in 2011 by musician John Noble, Itet aims to make world-class string chamber music accessible to regional and rural Victoria.
The program breaks down barriers of distance and mentorship, offering regional musicians the chance to learn, perform, and grow.
“ITET isn’t just about music, it’s about connection,” Mr Noble said.
“It creates opportunities for talented string players to collaborate, develop their artistry, and form lasting friendships within their communities.”
The Horsham Gariwerd Ensemble, launched over the Anzac weekend in 2023, has continued to thrive, now in its third year.
Organisers say this concert marks another milestone in the group’s development and community impact.
The evening’s program promises a mix of collaboration and high-calibre performances.
The ensemble will perform alongside their mentors before the Flinders Quartet delivers a special solo feature to close the first half.
After the interval, the Horsham Rural City Band will take the stage with their trademark energy.
All musicians will unite for a powerful grand finale, concluding what promises to be an unforgettable evening of artistry, collaboration, and community spirit.
