Impromptu car show draws a crowd

An impromptu car show at the Dooen Hotel recently attracted 35 impressive-restored or modified cars to the delight of organiser Rustin Chivel.

It was decided after Mr Chivel called into the hotel for a chat and a drink on the way home from a Birchip car show, and wanting to support the business, he organised the 'get together' for the next week.

Car owners from Horsham, Warracknabeal and the wider Wimmera attended the night with different vehicles, along with Mr Chivel and his Bathurst Charger R/T.

His stunning burnt orange Charger was a project of restoration 30 years ago.

Mr Chivel said after its success, he was hoping to organise other events in the future to support businesses like the Dooen Hotel.
