Audience members at the Dimboola Community Carols on Saturday night will have the chance to be part of a very special musical first.
Audience members at the Dimboola Community Carols on Saturday night will have the chance to be part of a very special musical first.
As well as the traditional favourites, the evening will feature a new song written especially for the occasion by Grade 6 students at Dimboola Primary School.
Working with music mentor Daniel Richardson, the group created "Christmas in Dimboola", which will be performed on stage by volunteers from Grades 4, 5 and 6.
The chorus includes the line "Christmas in Dimboola and everyone is cool ya".
The lyrics also refer to a Little Desert kangaroo, Horseshoe Bend, an outboard motor and a speedboat, barbecues and "rope swing bombs".
The school is encouraging attendees of all ages to sing along with the student body during the chorus: "It's Christmas in Dimboola and everyone is cool ya. It's Christmas in Dimboola. It's Christmas in Dimboola."
