Housing development moves one step closer
Warracknabeal housing development by E2E has taken another positive step forward with community consultation on Tuesday, March 10, attracting community members interested in the design and layout of the proposed buildings.
The project is a collaboration between E2E Growth and the Yarriambiack Shire Council to address the current housing shortage and the potential increased demand as major projects, including mining and renewables, progress in the area.
Directors and Co-Founders of E2E, Raj Goel and Ashu Goel, are experienced in affordable housing projects that have already been completed in Western Victoria and hope to complete the first ones in Warracknabeal by the end of 2026.
In addition to people showing interest in the project design and layout on Tuesday, tradespeople also used the opportunity to visit the community session to enquire about the potential use of local businesses in the project.
E2E has a track record of using as many local businesses as possible and said they intend to continue that process.
The company has purchased land in Anderson and Gould streets in Warracknabeal, as well as additional sites in Murtoa and Minyip, and this action qualified the Shire for a successful application for housing funding.
There will be a three or four-bedroom home built on Anderson Street and multiple units on Gould Street.
Council chief executive Tammy Smith said when announcing the partnership with E2E in February that this would help address the critical housing shortage in the area.
Regional forecasts project that, if planned developments proceed, the Wimmera Southern Mallee could see up to 2800 new jobs created at peak in 2027.
Ms Smith said the council wanted to have suitable and affordable housing that will attract people from all walks of life to join the community and sporting clubs.
"The investment by E2E will secure much-needed housing," she said.
Successful project funding had been due to E2E purchasing land showing.a commitment to the project.
E2E has been acknowledged for the quality and suitability of affordable housing projects in Ararat, receiving several awards in the 2025 East Grampians Business Awards.
They are also exploring additional development opportunities in Warracknabeal and Hopetoun in partnership with the council, and encourage property owners interested in selling to contact CEO Tammy Smith.
