Horsham’s new council confirmed
Horsham Rural City has its new council.
On Friday afternoon the Victorian Electoral Commission announced the five councillors will join Rebecca Sluggett (Kalimna ward) and Brian Klowss (Wyn Wyn ward) as the community’s representatives in local government for the next four years.
The five candidates declared victorious at the competion of vote-counting after the October election are Dean O'Loughlin (Green Park), Todd Wilson (Horsham North), Cam McDonald (May Park), Angela Munn (Oatlands) and Cr Ian Ross (Pine Lake).
Ms Sluggett and Mr Klowss were elected automatically in their respective wards after standing unopposed.
The new council will meet on November 21 to choose Horsham Rural City’s next mayor.
Of those who governed from 2020 until October this year, only Cr Ross remains in office.
