The Horsham Saints have claimed their first share of the silverware on offer this WFNL grand final day.

The Saints beat Horsham Demons 32-23 in the 13 and under netball decider to see themselves crowned premiers.

Having only won by one goal when the two sides met in the semi final, coach Zeena Kelm said there was a feeling of relief when the final whistle was blown with her side in front.

"[Demons] are a talented young little side and they just go and go and go at the ball," she said.

"We knew our girls would have to be really controlled."

Kelm said the half time message to her netballers was 'be controlled, and that's going to win us the game.'

Kelm said the Saints captain Ivy Hofmaier and vice captain Ruby Bethune showed strong leadership through the game.

"We asked them to show leadership and be controlled," said Kelm.

"Because when you've got a bunch of young girls and the pressures on, they look to those leaders, and that's why they are our captain and vice captain.

"They did that beautifully today."

Hofmaier and Bethune were named as the Saints best.
