Horsham's sports stars return to action on Saturday, December 7
Horsham's sports stars enjoy weekend action.
After the previous weekend's washouts, Horsham's cricketing stars, lawn bowlers and tennis players were keen to take to pitches and courts across the area on Saturday, December 7.
HCA A grade Ladder leaders West Wimmera travelled into Horsham to take on the fourth place Horsham Tigers at City Oval.
While Laharum hosted Homers, Bullants travelled to Murtoa to meet the Mudlarks, and Brim Kellalac Sheep Hills took on Colts at Dudley Cornell.
Horsham Saints had the bye.
In the Central Wimmera Tennis Association's pennant tennis, St Michaels hosted Kalkee while Horsham Lawn hit the road to take on Drung South.
In the Wimmera Playing Area's division one lawn bowls, Sunnyside hosted Nhill, Horsham Golf headed for Coughlin Park, Goroke Edenhope met Horsham City and Dimboola hosted Kaniva.
While Friday's rain had dried up enough for the Horsham Cricket Association's senior teams to take the field on Saturday afternoon, most of the junior grade missed out.
The under 12 and under 16 competitions due to be held on Friday afternoon were called off due to weather, and one of the association's under 16 fixtures, scheduled for the Saturday, were also abandoned.
Following the HCA's current round of A grade two-dayers, teams will meet for a round of one-dayers before taking to the Christmas break.
