Horsham Fishing Competition returns to Wimmera River for Labor Day weekend
Horsham Fishing Competition announced for 2025.
The banks of the Wimmera River will once again be filled with hopeful anglers on 2025's Labor Day Weekend for the annual Horsham Fishing Competition.
The March event is expected to bring $400,000 into Horsham's local economy as competitors travel to attend the event.
Horsham Fishing Competition president Bart Turgoose said the organisers are thrilled to announce the 2025 iteration of the event.
"The response from our local business community has been overwhelming, with many sponsors already pledging their support for this year's event," he said.
"This competition has become a cornerstone event for our region, bringing together families and fishermen from across the country while providing a significant boost to our local economy."
The organising committee is still finalising details about the event, with details to be released to the Horsham Fishing Competition Facebook page.
In 2024, saw a veteran of the competition, Jason Hahne, take out the top prize for catching the longest native fish, earning himself a $7500 travel voucher.
