Horsham cricket round 3: Colts crumble, Homers, Bullants down to the wire
Baxter Perry dominates with bat and ball in Homers HCA victory.
Homers needed until the final overs to claim the win against Bullants, while Colts were bowled out for 32 in an event third round of Horsham Cricket Association action.
Matthew Combe hit 76 runs from 101 deliveries to put the Bullants in the driver's seat with 10/149.
Opening bowler Baxter Perry claimed 2/20, while Chris Hopper (2/23), Luke Miller (2/26) and Chaminda Gamage (2/26) were equally as effective with the ball.
Homers were reeling at 2/16 before Patty Mills and Adam Atwood corrected the boat and put a 60-run partnership.
A string of cheap wickets left Homers at 9-139 before Berry and Aiden Van put on a key 10th wicket partnership to claim the one wicket win. Combe took 4/29.
Tigers earned an 80-run win against Horsham Saints.
Angus Adams hit 36 to help Tigers get 8/159. Joshua Carroll was the pick of the Saints bowlers with 3/23.
In reply, Carroll (31) was the only batsman to get beyond 15 runs as the side was bowled out within 20 overs. Levi Mock took 3/3 in the victory.
Joshua Lees (3/6) and Xavier Bone (3/9) were a two man wrecking crew as West Wimmera dismissed Colts for 32.
Captain Logan Millar (13) was the only batsman to reach double figures.
In reply, the Warriors chased down the target as openers Bradley Alexander (14*) and Jobe Dickinson (18*) batting patiently in the the 10-wicket win.
In the final A Grade game, Brim KSH defeated Lubeck-Murtoa by 10 wickets.
The Eagles bowled the Mudlarks out for 65 in 41 overs; Blake Downer (17) and Nic Ballagh (11) were the only batters to reach double figures.
Chris McPherson was a menace with the bal, claiming 4/5 from 5 overs.
In reply, Connor McGinniss was run out without facing a ball. Brim KSH then Leigh Dovaston (38*) and Jeremy Preston (23*) chased down the total inside 21 overs.
In B grade, Colts captain Beau Purchase hit 81 runs from 71 balls to help his side to a 171-run win against Quantong.
Muhammad Hassaan Masood took 5/24 in Saints nine-wicket win against Bullants.
Wilson Mitchell and Scott McCurdy took three wickets each in the Blue Panthers eight wicket win against Tigers.
