HORSHAM Showground was a riot of colour as an estimated crowd of 6000 returned to the annual Agricultiural Show.

Organiser Andrea Cross said she was "thrilled" by the numbers, which were double pre-Covid attendances.

"We're very happy," Mrs Cross said. "The general vibe from the community was that it was a great show and they loved it."

The ever-popular fireworks along with free kids' activities were among the best attended.

"Engaging the community is our focus," Mrs Cross said.

"This year was our final attempt to attract the 20-40 years crowd to the After Dark program, as we've come to the realisation that once the fireworks are done, the show ends.

"We will provide more live music during the day in future, but our new direction is now to close the show after the fireworks.

"It's about giving the community what they want".
