Hornets hold off Millicent in front of home crowd, book grand final berth

The Horsham Hornets are through to their third CBL grand final in four years after a 84-79 win against Millicent on Saturday, December 14.
The home side led by 17 points at the last change before Millicent roared back.
Post-game Hornets guard Freddy Frew was glad to get the positive result.
"It was too close for comfort, But we'll take the win in the end. That's all that really matters," he said.
"They played a two-three zone and that was pretty effective in the second half which got us a bit scrambled.
"But we just needed to work the ball around and I think we did that to secure the win."
Frew top-scored with 18 points alongside Austin McKenzie and Micah Livingstone.
Cody Bryan was the other Hornet in double digits with 10 points.
"I just try and go out there to play my role and facilitate [and] if the opportunity is there go and score," Frew said.
Frew also credited the impact of the home crowd had in the closing stages.
"I reckon that's the loudest I've ever heard them to be honest," he said.
"I wish we had the grand final here again next week, but now we'll try and get Portland rocking."
The Hornets will play Mount Gambier in the second straight decider after the Lakers defeated Warrnambool by one-point in the other semi-final.
Portland will host the championship game on Saturday, December 14.
