Hardship payment grants open for Grampians bushfire-affected communities
Hardship payments of $680 per adult, $340 per child are available.
The Victorian government has activated emergency payments for people affected by the Grampians National Park bushfire.
Speaking at a press conference today, Deputy Premier Ben Carroll said hardship payment grants of $680 per adult and $340 per child are available to help.
"It's been an extremely tough time for Victorians through this period," he said.
"We know throughout Victoria, families have had to forgo their Christmas period and forgo spending time with loved ones.
"What is often a time of joy has been a very difficult time for many Victorians.
"That's why we will wrap our arms around Victorians impacted by the bushfires, our communities, and our councils today."
The Deputy Premier said bushfire-affected people can call the Vic emergency hotline on 1800 226 226 or at an emergency relief centre.
"We will stand with you. We'll continue to stand with you in what is a very difficult time for Victoria, as we have the bush fire season," he said.
On December 26, the state government announced a joint funding agreement with the Commonwealth government for the municipalities of Ararat, Northern Grampians, Southern Grampians and Macedon Ranges.
