Hallam takes 21km win

Sunday's warm spring weather was ideal for the 136 people who signed up to participate the annual Run the 'Beal on the banks of Yarriambiack Creek.
Events Warracknabeal's Jayden Werner said organisers were "stoked" with the number of registrations the event received, and thanked Warracknabeal Lions Club for keeping Lions Park so well maintained.
"It was a really positive day," Mr Werner said.
"Initially we had 50 locals registered, but then more and more people from Horsham, Nhill and other areas registered.
Finishing the 21 kilometre track with a time of 1:24:57, Mark Hallam was crowed the winner over runner-up Matt Walder, who recorded a time of 1:29:19.
In the 10-kilometre run, Sandon Schultz recorded the fastest time of 48:22, while second-placed Ella Walsgott stopped the clock at 49:05.
And Ryan Stacey secured the five-kilometre win with his time of 21:12 - more than a full minute ahead of runner-up Dan McKenzie with 22:43.
"We received good feedback - those who participated have been spreading the word to their friends and want it to happen again," said Mr Werner.
"We also had plenty of helpers, including Rotary and Apex who marshalled the run, as well as Yarriambiack Shire who helped get the track ready and mowed."
