Grand final win sure to feel 'unreal' for Saints ressies once it sinks in
Horsham Saints beat Horsham Demons in Dimboola.
The Horsham Saints reserves have claimed the grade's 2024 WFNL premiership.
The side beat Horsham Demons 10.3 (63) - 5.4 (14) at Dimboola Recreation Reserve on Saturday, September 21.
Saints reserves coach Matthew Combe said after the match that while the feeling hasn't yet sunk in, a senior premiership is unreal.
"I probably never felt like I would be playing in a grand final again ... let alone playing footy again," he said.
Strong attacking play gave the Saints good efficiency when inside 50.
"Every time we went inside 50, we looked dangerous, we looked like we were going to score," Combe said.
"It probably wasn't our best game of football, but sometimes when it's not your day, you've just got to find ways to win.
"I think today we found ways to win."
Horsham Saints' Judd Wright earned the best on ground for the grand final.
"[Judd's] going to be a superstar in the future," said Combe.
"In the first minute he took a hanger and I was just like, 'this bloke is just going to tear this game apart.
"He adds a lot to our group, [we're] confident every time there is a high ball going to the back that he's going to mark it."
