Gallery: final round of Horsham cricketing action before Christmas break
A clear premiership favourite emerges after HCA round 9 clashes.
Horsham Cricket Association's last round of action for 2024 took place across the region, with plenty of wickets and runs to keep spectators happy.
West Wimmera made short work of the Bullants, bowling the boys from Noradjuha-Toolondo out for 85.
Fast bowler Luke Smith was the star with the ball at City Oval, taking 5/25 from nine overs.
He was aptly supported by Nathan Alexander (2/21) and Joshua Lees (2/12).
The Warriors chased the target down in 23 overs, with Mitchell Dahlenburg finishing with 32 not out.
In Brim, the home side posted 8/162 against Laharum.
Brim Kellalac Sheep Hills Cricket Club vice-captain Isaac McPherson hit 76 not out from 92 deliveries, which included 10 fours.
Joel Pymer (3/12) and Jim McInnes (3/35) starred for the Demons with the ball.
In reply, the Demons were bowled out for 102.
Captain Charlie Dean did the damage with 4/20.
Lubeck-Murtoa needed about 3.75 an over after bowling Homers out for 168.
Luke Miller (49) set the pace before Chaminda Gamage hit an innings-defining 67 from 69 balls.
The Mudlarks shared the wickets, with Lachlan Weidemann taking 2/20 off 6.4 overs.
Despite 58 runs from opener Connor Weidemann, Lubeck-Murtoa fell 17 runs short of the target.
Oliver Potter (2/16), Matthew Kerr (2/24) and Phoenix Hopper (2/14) all played a part in the victory.
Finally, Corey Smith's 51 runs helped the Horsham Saints post a defendable target of 191 runs at Coughlin Park.
Captain Logan Millar led the Colts with 4/29.
The lower-order heroics of Nathan Keel (46 from 29) were not enough and Colts fell 27 runs short.
Jono Carroll was the star with the ball taking 3/21.
