Gallery chair Rhonda Tursi bids farewell
After more than a decade shaping the arts scene in the Wimmera, Rhonda Tursi has officially stepped down as chair of the Horsham Regional Art Gallery Trust.
Ms Tursi’s departure marks the end of an incredible chapter for the Gallery.
Since joining the Trust in 2011, she has served as chair for the past 11 years.
Horsham mayor Ian Ross praised Rhonda’s enduring commitment and leadership.
“Rhonda’s legacy at the Gallery is extraordinary,” he said.
“Her strategic vision, financial acumen, and deep passion for the arts have made a meaningful and lasting contribution to the region’s arts community.”
Her influence has not only helped safeguard the Gallery’s future, but has also enriched Horsham’s cultural life for generations to come.
The Trust supports the ongoing acquisition of artworks for the Gallery’s collection.
Today, it holds more than 2500 works, with standout holdings in Australian photography, regional artists from the Wimmera, and the celebrated Mack Jost Collection of Australian paintings and works on paper.
Leadership of the trust was passed to fellow trustee Mr Schulz ensuring a smooth handover and continued stability.
The Council extended its heartfelt thanks to Mrs Tursi for her tireless efforts and unwavering commitment.
