Four routes, one great cause: join the 2024 Arapiles Cycling Event

Entries are now open for the 2024 Arapiles Cycling Event, set to take place on Saturday, October 5.
This community-driven bike ride, centred around the iconic Mt Arapiles, offers four distance options to cater to cyclists of all abilities: 100km, 75km, 50km, and 20km circuits.
Organiser Mark Radford said the event is an opportunity for people to enjoy the best of the region.
"The Arapiles Cycling Event is an opportunity for men and women of all ages to get and about and enjoy our local rural scenery," he said.
"We encourage cyclists to do some training leading up to the ride and to make sure your bicycle is in good condition."
Mr Radford said every rider, regardless of distance, would be helping the communities most vulnerable.
"Last year, in 2023, we were able to provide a $2000 donation to support the work of Wimmera Against Cancer in Kids in our community," he said.
"Once again, in 2024, a percentage of the rider fees will support WACK."
All routes start and finish in Natimuk, with the 100km, 75km, and 50km rides following fully sealed roads.
The 20km option takes riders along the scenic Arapiles Big Sky Bike Trail.
Rest stops will provide food, drinks, shelter, and toilet facilities.
Start times vary by distance, with the 100km riders setting off at 8am, the 75km and 50km riders at 9am, and the 20km group at 10am.
All riders must complete their routes by 2pm.
After the ride, participants can enjoy several post-ride lunch options in Natimuk.
The event is supported by local authorities and organisations, including the Victoria Police, Horsham Rural City Council VicRoads, Parks Victoria, and St John's Ambulance.
