Former WSC teacher publishes poems

Former Warracknabeal Secondary College (WSC) teacher Janice Booth, who visited Warracknabeal with husband Alan Howe just before Christmas, has published her own book of poetry.
Ms Booth submitted a ‘Miss Conversation Piece’ to the Warracknabeal Herald 46 years ago, which profiled examples of her student’s creative writing.
She has now produced a book of poems titled ‘Astonishing The Sky With Possibility’, which contains a range of short poems on a variety of topics ranging from grandmother’s washing habits to ‘The Day Leonard Cohen Called’.
While Ms Booth, now a practicing acupuncturist, no longer teaches, she still maintains a strong love of writing, contributing regularly to several magazines, and has won several writing competitions over the years.
Ms Booth and her husband, originally from the UK, taught in Warracknabeal from late 1976 to 1979 and are remembered as popular WSC English teachers.
Mr Howe was also snapped up as a competent cricketer with the Warracknabeal Cricket Club during his time in the town.
